Is it possible to see the world through someone else's eyes? Or do we inevitably translate the experiences of others through those of our own? Can we listen to someone without the disruption of our worldviews and assumptions? Is the way we look at the world the result of our autonomous thinking or is it determined by the complexity of the contexts we live in and belong to? In the latter case, is the focus on what “I see” and “I believe” in itself a product of Western individualism?

During the residency period at Plan B, Joana Velu took regularly walks in the neighbourhood in Amsterdam-Noord. While filming the things that caught her eye, she also met and captured people who shared their views and perceptions with her.
